Pee pee on the potty
So there you have it, down with the books and crazy methods, just go out and rent yourself a potty trained 2 year old for the day and kick back and relax - it's just that easy (I hope I'm not jinxing myself by writing this right now, and I'm still going to hold onto that book until I'm completely convinced Lauren has got this thing down).
Aside from the fun Saturday and the potty training the other big news is that I'm still inching closer to my due date. Tomorrow I have my 32 week check-up. So far everything is going pretty smooth so I'm hoping that will continue to be the case. Trav and I are still undecided about a name for the babe, but luckily we have Ryan. He has given his baby sister the beautiful and very unique name of "Peaches Lulu Quast." He even made me look up "Peaches" in the baby name book to see what it means - "outrageously sweet" - and now whenever anyone asks what his baby sister is going to be named, he responds with, "Peaches Lulu Quast which means outrageously sweet." After hearing this, people immediately turn to look at me to see if I'll verify the story and I have to give a little smile and say, "that's just what we're calling her for now" (I usually try to say it very quietly though otherwise Ryan tends to get mad). I'm hoping Ryan gets over this name in the next two months or we might have to seriously consider naming our third child "Peaches" just so he wouldn't be devastated!
No pictures this post, apparently I've forgotten to bring out the camera lately - I'll work on it for next time.

Dance Party Thursday
And here is a quick picture prior to getting dressed this morning. Ryan is showing off his projects from school. The focus this week has been on presidents so here he is displaying his Abraham Lincoln log cabin and George Washington hat. He says both men were really smart so that is what he wants to be like. Apparently the teachers told him that reading makes you smart so that has been his focus this week - more reading, less tv. After all, tv turns your brains to mush, and he surely doesn't want that to happen - gotta love those teachers of his - always filling his mind with good info!
And here is a picture of Lauren. Whenever I get the camera out and take a picture of Ryan, she insists on having her taken as well - a little cheese ball even early in the morning!

Another busy week

Everett John Quast

Seeing the new baby and being in the hospital again brought back lots of memories and it made me realize just how soon we'll be doing this ourselves - only 2 1/2 months to go and I'll be writing to say the newest Quast member arrived today and it will be our baby - yay!

Toddler Tuesday
Aside from the outing today, we haven't been up to much. Lauren luckily got another staph infection and turned into a little devil. I am giving the infection and the bad feelings that go with it some of the credit for the bad attitude, the rest she just gets credit for - let the terrible twos begin! Ryan officially ended karate and things haven't been bad. Apparently we're keeping him busy enough with other stuff that he hasn't really had time to remember that he no longer goes to class twice a week. The baby continues to grow and I'm progressing just as I should. I am now officially 28 weeks along and have started my last trimester! Only 12 more weeks to go and we'll have a new little Quast to take care of. I'm almost pound for pound the exact same weight I was with both of the other kids and I am measuring about a week behind (also the same as with the other two pregnancies) - maybe that means we'll have another 8.5-8.6 pounder on our hands - I could definitely deal with that. We still haven't agreed on a name yet, but with 3 months to go, I'm sure we'll get it figured out.
Here are a couple of quick pictures I found on my camera. Ash was over the other day and dressed Lauren in her "preppy" sweater vest so I obviously had to get my camera out - enjoy!
